Такой вот вышел маскарад…
Однажды в замке Людоеда
Решили справить маскарад…
Позвали тучного соседа,
Который трижды был женат,
Кондитера с его семейством,
Двух полногрудых поварих,
И чтоб не скучным было действо,
Оркестр был размещён у них…
Пяток купцов, барон с женою,
Из мэрии десяток лиц
Явились дружною толпою
С нагрузкой в восемь танцовщиц…
Нарядно были все одеты,
Веселье било через край…
Хозяин замка ел котлеты,
Жена кромсала каравай…
А дети как-то заскучали,
От сладких отреклись конфет,
Поникли гладкими плечами,
Уныло глядя на паштет…
И старший, пошептавшись с братом,
Пошёл на танец приглашать
Жену барона виновато,
Мол, только Ваша к сердцу стать…
За кругом круг, неторопливо
Он вёл мадам в соседний зал,
Где бочки размещались с пивом…
К одной он даму привязал…
А младший брат повёл соседа
Мечи и шпаги изучать…
Не долго длилась их беседа—
Пришёл малец храня печать
Довольного собой пройдохи…
Сестрицы, помня уговор,
Двум клеркам раздавая вздохи,
Сманили их на тёмный двор…
Когда хозяин спохватился,
Остался лишь худой скрипач…
Умыли дети руки, лица,
Решив за вечер тьму задач…
Зачем кормить такую прорву?
Платить оркестру не с руки…
Самим идти по миру в пору,
Неся пустые рюкзаки…
Жена вздохнула сиротливо,
Взяла в охапку скрипача,
И выпив кубок с крепким пивом,
Закрыла дверь на два ключа…
